Biography

Earl Scruggs was born in Cleveland County, North Carolina and developed the three-finger banjo roll that became the defining sound of bluegrass.

Carolina story

The style now taught worldwide as "Scruggs style" was developed by a North Carolina farm boy, and the Earl Scruggs Center in Shelby documents that history.
